Coach Galore

When I was on vacation, we took a scooter around Key West and did some shopping, in which I found some great deals at the Coach Outlet. I never really thought about buying a Coach bag again.. my first coach purse was given to me on my birthday 4 years ago! Quite a while and after that I figured I would diversify by getting other bags but then grad school hit, and I never could afford anything else. Waiting till my first post-grad paycheck to get a Chanel purse, it will be my love. haha.

I was actually looking for a slouchy, brown leather bag, but of course I end up with a structured black purse. I've been needing a large bag since my old Coach purse is so tiny, I can only fit so much in there. I def. needed to upgrade my purse to fit my whole entire life! The Coach purse was such a good deal that I couldn't pass on this leather bag plus it didn't have all the CCs everywhere so I liked the simplicity of it. Plus I was reading People Magazine's top fall trends, I'll write an entry on my picks for another time, but one of them was lady-like bags for the fall. PERFECT! I was a little unsure if I wanted the bag since it wasn't really what I was looking for, but after using it for the week, I decided that I am super happy with my purchase. Its a medium sized tote that's large enough to carry all my stuff, but doesn't overwhelm my petite frame and also a classic bag that will last me forever! I even found a purpose for the little Coach scarf my friend bought for my for my birthday a couple of years ago.

I also got a Coach trench coat. I absolutely LOVE trench coats. My favorite will still be the black one I got in Paris. BR is selling one right now for $225... so I figured anything over 50% of that would be an okay splurge and also a Burberry one is totally non-affordable at the moment.

*Sorry for the poor picture quality! My brother went to Asia with my camera so I was stuck with our old digicam which no longer works so the low quality pictures are from my trusty camera phone.

VMA 2008 Fashion

So I was kinda bored with the fashion at this year's MTV VMAs which took place Sunday, Sept 7th at Hollywood's Paramount Studios. There wasn't really anything super exciting, sad to say. Everyone looked great, but they all pretty much played it safe.

I really liked L.C.'s dress. Its definitely something she would wear, but its just so cute with voluminous short skirt, love the detailing. The deep V of the dress gives it some added sex appeal, but of course she better watch out for any mishaps! I really love her hair! Its a nice messy up-do that looks like at any moment its gonna unravel, but its gorgeous! I was NEVER a huge L.C. fan, but surprisingly I think this was my favorite outfit of the night.

The "Best New Artist" Nominees got together for some cute poses. Here is Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry. Katy Perry really took a risk with her vintage hot shorts outfit, but she looks great! Not many could pull off a look like that.

Here's Miley blowing a kiss to the camera. Many of the pictures I found with her had with mother, Tish, in the pictures. Someone should remind her to let her daughter have her spotlight! The black dress works well for her. She looks like she's having fun :)

I absolutely adore Taylor Swift! This country star is so well-posed and makes it seem like she doesn't let the Hollywood get to her head. Her outfit is so simple and innocent.

What's a fashion entry without talking about Rihanna!? She's fashion forward as usal. ALWAYS edgy. I do have to admit I adore last year's VMA outfit more though!

I'm so proud of Britney! She looks sooo good at this year's VMA. Definitely a HUGE improvement from last year's disaster. She lools so happy, but who wouldn't after capturing 3 moon men!

Best Eye Creams

My friend Alex has been asking me to write an entry about eye creams. I haven't used very many eye creams, but I have read a lot of reviews that I wanted to share as well as the ones that I have used. My main use of eye cream is to prevent wrinkles and improve the skin texture around my eyes. I don't really have any huge bags or any really dark circles yet, but I think its super important in keeping the eye area hydrated and use eye cream as a preventative measure.

My first eye cream was Juice Beauty "Smoothing Eye Concentrate". I got it as a recommendation from lady who worked at Sephora. She counseled me about a few of the eye creams and this one was in my price range. The great thing about this product is that its all ORGANIC and it contains a "Japanese green tea to comfort and help reduce puffiness." The BAD thing about this is that it made me break out a little bit, I a little white bump on my lower eye area. I stopped using the product and waited for my skin to clear up. I might have been using it over excessively and it must have clogged my pores so thats def. something you need to watch out for with this and any eye cream out there. Because it created milia for me, I can't fully recommend this product, but I think if you don't use it excessively everyday, it might be okay. The only thing I could think of was that I used the product everyday and maybe I should have used a lesser amount underneath my eye area.

*Note
I got an email from a reader stating "Try using Juice Beauty's smoothing eye in small amounts. That's the beauty of it--it's super concentrated. It's a great eye cream"

So maybe if I wasn't so overzealous with the product being my first eye cream and freaking over about nothing thats really there yet then I wouldn't have encountered the problem I had. So with that said, maybe its worth a try! Just use a small amount :)

My current eye cream is Clinique "All About Eyes". I have had no problems with this product so far. No huge changes in the appearance of my under eye area either (but at the same time I don't have many complaints). This product was reviewed very positively by DeLush, which is one reason I got this product.

DeLush is a beauty website that I read often to get my fix on specific beauty products. I'm gonna summarize only a few products they recommended to get, but you can read their full review on their website plus a lot more products!

BeFine Eye Brightening Serum Ulta $19.99 - good results with brightening dark circles but not so much in reducing wrinkles.

Murad Lighten & Brighten Treatment
$75.00 (15 ml)- steeper price, good results with staying power, but must be used with SPF due to possible skin discoloration from sun. "Dramatically reduced dark circles by an average of 59%* and under-eye bags and puffiness by up to 50%** with this scientifically proven treatment."

MAC MoistureLush Eye Cream $30.00 (15 ml) was also reviewed very positively by DeLush stating that it did a great job minimized tiny lines and reducing puffiness associated with lack of sleep. I wouldn't have ever thought of using a MAC eye cream, but its worth the consideration.

Boscia Enlivening Amino-AG Eye Treatment $38.00 (15 ml) was reviewed well by Lipstick is my Crack, which she raves on how amazing this product was for her under eye circles. Definitely worth a try. Could potentially be my next purchase.

This AVON product "ANew Clinical Eye Lift" has won a lot of awards! I don't know too much about it, but I would love to hear more about it! Its in the price range that I'm looking to spend as well, a little cheaper than the Boscia.

Laura Mercier Night Nutrition Renewal Eye Creme $45.00 (15 ml) - I haven't heard too much about this one yet, but I'm interested in knowing more about this product as well.

From the blogging reviews online, I would recommend for overall eye cream, try MAC MositureLush Eye Cream or Clinique All About Eyes and for reducing those dark under eye circles, try Boscia Enlivening Amino-AG Treatment or Murad Lighten and Brighten Treatment. I am personally most interested in Avon ANew Clinical Eye Lift and Boscia Enlivening Amino-AG Treatment. All products work differently on everyone, but you should def. start using a product if you haven't started for preventative measures at the very least!

Gossip Girl graces Entertainment Weekly

Our favorite Upper East sider (on and off again) couples grace this month's issues of Entertainment Weekly. I'm absolutely loving Blair a.k.a. Leighton Meester & Chuck's a.k.a. Ed Westwick cover. Serena (Blake Lively) and Dan's (Penn Badgley) cover isn't bad, its got a more sultry feel to it, but Leighton looks absolutely stunning in that dark purple bandage dress and I like for once how Ed is actually smiling instead of scowling all the time on Gossip Girl. But I do have to say I have a bias for the Queen B, I love her prim and proper style on the show and especially her headbands! What do you think?

Miley Cyrus' Star Print Dress

The 15 year old Disney Star, Miley Cyrus, knows how to look cute while shopping with her family in L.A. and lunching at Cheesecake factory. Her look is so cute and young. This look is way too young for me, but it works for her! I recently saw a very similar outfit at H&M while shopping at Atlantic City this weekend. My friend Shawn models Miley's lovely dress. Love how she paired red chucks with the outfit. This is definitely a look for less compared to the actual Rachel Pally dress. Tim Gunn recently commented to Ok! Magazine that Miley dresses too old for her age or "tart" as he puts it, which is true sometimes, but not with this casual outfit. What do you think of her outfit?

FREE 10 day trial of Bare Minerals!

So I told you guys that I would check out the free 10-day trial of Bare Minerals by Bare Escentuals with a free kabuki brush and its true! No purchase is necessary. You can pick it up at Sephora or Ulta stores. At Sephora, just give them your rewards card or your email address. Just tell them what color you are or they can color match you at the store. I got the color, Light. I put the free trial next to my Get Started kit I got a few years ago... its pretty small, about the size of their eye shadows, but hey, its free! I really liked the product when I used it a few years ago but I stopped using it because I felt that it didn't give me enough coverage that lasted the whole day... but lately, I'm not loving the heavy foundation so I might give Bare Minerals another chance. The great thing about this product is that its 100% pure minerals plus it has added SPF 15! If you guys are interested in trying Bare Minerals, you should def. get this free sample :) Enjoy!
